Dashed grey lines indicate the ambient temperature selected (~16°C) for this experiment that usually occurs at the time of collection in March (NZ late summer/early autumn). Both plots were created using satellite derived daily sea surface temperatures from 1st Jan. 1982 to 31st Dec. 2020 and the R package “heatwaveR”.
