The surface charge of nanoparticles was measured using the Zetasizer.

The surface charge, or zeta potential, of these nanoparticles displayed similar cationic surfaces with (A) the PC-coated citrate gold nanoparticles possessing a zeta potential of -23 mV. The PC-coated silica-gold nanoshells were slightly more cationic at -31 mV.
