Wickert, Rodrigo Machado, Salvatore Siciliano, Agostino MericoPanel A shows the spatial distribution of stranding events of the Kogia whales (42 and 58 for K. breviceps and K. sima, respectively) from 1965 to 2014, the latitudinal sampling boxes (dashed white squares), from where we extracted mean values of environmental variables, adjacent to stranding zones, and important sites (RCB = Royal Charlotte Bank; AB = Abrolhos Bank; CF = Cabo Frio; CSMG = Cabo de Santa Marta Grande). Panel B shows the monthly occurrences of stranding events and panel C shows the number of strandings adjacent to the sampling boxes.
