Phenotypes of the S. pombe coq deletion mutants.

(A) Ten-fold serial dilutions of the indicated strains (1×10⁶ cells) in sterilized water were spotted onto YES medium, YES medium supplemented with 1 mM CuSO₄, EMM (minimal medium), and EMM supplemented with 0.4 mg/ml cysteine. The plates were incubated at 30°C for 4 days (B) The same dilutions of the strains were spotted onto YES medium containing 3 mM glucose (Glc) and YES medium lacking glucose but containing 2% glycerol (Gly) and 1% ethanol (EtOH). The plates were incubated at 30°C for 3 or 10 days.
