Seven-day-cultured macrophages were infected with or without HIV Bal strain for 2 h and cultured for 12 days in the presence or absence of IFN-λ3 (100 ng/ml). Cells were then washed and fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde fixative and treated with 0.2% triton. HIV p24 in infected macrophages was stained by HIV p24 antiserum (green color) and cell nuclei was stained by Hoechst and observed through fluorescence microscope.
