Sampling locations in the San Joaquin Valley in California with Coccidioides detection using the CocciEnv qPCR assay depicted for each individual soil or air (settled dust) sample.
Numbers in square brackets on map show soil samples positive for Coccidioides detection over the total number of soil samples collected at each site. Grids enumerate positive and negative samples at each site. Hwy33 = undeveloped sites. West Side, Kearney, Shafter and Weedpatch = agricultural sites. All soils from Hwy33 sites are from rodent burrows. All soils from agricultural sites are from agricultural fields. Positive Hwy33 air samples are from site 8 (3 samples) and site 3 (1 sample). Total samples across all sites = 975.
