Example feedback given for each problem:

4$-3 = X: 4$-3 = 4+5+6 = 15 (or 5+6+7 if participant had chosen that solution).

−2$4 = X: −2$4 = −2+−3+−4+−5 = −14.

208$3 = X: 208$3 = 208+207+206 = 621.

5$X = 12: 5$3 = 5+4+3 = 12.

X$4 = 30: 9$4 = 9+8+7+6 = 30.

X$X = 15: 5$5 = 5+4+3+2+1 = 15.

110$X = 434: 110$4 = 110+109+108+107 = 434.

5$2⅓ = X: 5$2⅓ = 5+4+⅓(3) = 10.

200$401 = X: 200$401 = 200+199+…−199+−200 = 0.
