In vivo cell-specific effect of dexamethasone on apoE expression in macrophages and liver of C57BL/6J mice.

Quantification of apoE gene expression normalized to GAPDH in peritoneal macrophages and liver extracts in dexamethasone-treated mice, as compared to control mice, is depicted in the lower panels. Five-day dexamethasone (30mg/kg body weight) treatment of C57BL/6J mice significantly increases apoE mRNA levels in mouse peritoneal macrophages (p<0.001), but does not affect hepatic apoE gene expression (p>0.05).
