Lipid-reduced (LR) growth conditions affect lipid biogenesis in cancer cells.

HepG2, PC3M, HOP62 and T24 cells growing in normal or LR medium for 72 hours, were incubated for the last 4 hours with ¹⁴C-acetate. Cellular lipids were extracted and the incorporation of ¹⁴C in the cellular lipids was determined by scintillation counting. Scintillation counts were normalized for sample DNA content. Results are representative of three independent experiments. *Significantly different (*p≤0,05; **p≤0,01; ***p≤0,001), n.s. not significant (p>0,05).
