Values represent relative levels of protein bands, normalized to beta actin. 3A) ADAM17; 3B) BACE1; 3C) ADAM19; 3D) PS1 50 kDa; and 3E) PS1 25 kDa. Controls (•), schizophrenia -SCZ (▪) and bipolar disorder -BPD (▴). 1A) shows levels of ADAM17 to be significantly different between cohorts by ANCOVA [F (2, 15) = 7.166, p = 0.007]. 3D) and E) show PS-1 25 and 50 kDa levels are significantly lower in SCZ by Bonferroni post hoc analyses, compared to controls (p = 0.001) and BPD (p<0.001). Asterisk indicates statistical significance. Graphs are plotted as mean ± standard error.
