<p>The reaction solutions contained 25 mM Tris acetate (pH 7.5), 10 mM magnesium acetate, 5 µM dT<i><sub>n</sub></i> (nucleotide concentration), and the indicated concentrations of SsbB protein (tetramer concentrations). The reactions were analyzed by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis using a gel running buffer consisting of Tris acetate (pH 7.5) and 10 mM magnesium acetate. The bands corresponding to the unbound dT<i><sub>n</sub></i> oligomers, and the B<sub>1</sub> and B<sub>2</sub> complexes, were visualized by phosphorimaging.</p>
