KengneReceiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of the waist circumference in detecting the presence of two or more metabolic syndrome components in HIV-infected African men (A) and women (B). The ROC curves show the optimal cutoff of 82.9 cm in men (sensitivity: 59%, specificity: 74%) corresponding to a c-statistic of 0.659 (A), and the optimal cutoff of 92.0 cm in women (sensitivity: 63.5%, specificity: 64.2%) corresponding to a c-statistic of 0.649 (B).
