Jannaway, Melanie Yang, Xiaoyuan Meegan, Jamie E. Coleman, Danielle C. Y. Yuan, Sarah Thrombin cleaves S3ED from human lung microvascular endothelial cells. <p>Immunofluorescence was used to verify expression of syndecan ectodomains on human lung microvascular endothelial cells (HLMVECs). All four syndecans were found expressed on HLMVECs, with thrombin treatment (1 hour) significantly decreasing the expression of S3ED and S4ED (p<0.05).</p> thrombin receptor PAR 1.;barrier integrity;disease states;barrier function;syndecan -3 ectodomain fragments;Syndecan proteins;plasma protein leakage;glycocalyx;Rho kinase inhibitor;ELISA;VE-cadherin-based adherens junction disorganization;albumin-bound Evans;transmission electron microscopy;syndecan subtypes;F-actin stress fibers;mouse lung;intercellular gaps;transmigrating cells;barrier dysfunction Objective;paracellular hyperpermeability;thrombotic disease states;cleavage products;paracellular permeability;blot analysis;lung microvasculature 2019-05-15
